Our vision

                                      Vision Statement

A family of equal, diverse and unique people, made in the image of God, together aspiring to fulfil our God-given potential by nourishing ‘The Fruits of the Spirit’ in our lives.

What does this mean to you?
How are you equal or unique?
What do we mean by diverse?
What are your aspirations for the future?
How will you fulfil your God-given potential?

Our vision is one that centres on the people that our children, staff and local community can become. It is a community-based vision, created with and shared by St John’s Church. Having a shared vision creates a sense of community and belonging.

Our vision creates a Godly view of self-worth, encouraging all children to have a sense of uniqueness and equality. It provides people with the message God cares about the people we are becoming, not just who we are now.

In relation to the Instrument of Governance, our school's vision will preserve and develop its religious character in partnership with the church. This is inline with our historical foundation as a church school. The vision explains how we, at St John’s, aim to provide an education of the highest quality which will allow children to achieve their full potential, whilst promoting the meaning and significance of faith and the Christian Values.

Over the years, our local community has become more diverse. Our vision was shaped in line with that to teach children equality, respect and to love all just as God did.

We created our vision statement based on the theological roots from Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law”. Our community believes that everyone is equal yet unique and diverse. The first of our school values is love, and we believe this overarches all the other values and the school bible verse, ‘Just as I have loved you, you should love each other’ emphasises this.
